Couchkartell for Windows
Install Couchkartell on a Windows PC with access to your film and TV folders. The built-in Couchkartell Player supports UHD and audio output suited to your connected device. No additional player installation is required.
After installation, enter your household activation code. Couchkartell automatically checks for and installs subsequent required updates.
The installer, uninstaller and included Couchkartell media engine are digitally signed by Agentur Zentral GmbH. Playback stays entirely within Couchkartell. No external player is installed or opened.
The browser blocks the download or warns about the file
A browser may initially block a new installer that has not yet been downloaded often, or display a warning.
- Open your browser's list of downloaded files.
- Open the options for the Couchkartell installer and confirm that you want to keep the file or continue the download. The exact wording varies by browser.
- Run the downloaded file and check the Windows prompt under More info for the publisher Agentur Zentral GmbH.
If this publisher is missing or the file did not come directly from this page, delete it and do not run it.
Windows displays “Windows protected your PC”
This message can appear for a new installer that has not yet been downloaded often, even with a valid signature.

Couchkartell for Android
Your library, profiles, watchlist and playback progress on your phone and tablet, with a built-in player and audio track and subtitle selection. Play films and TV shows directly from your NAS, at home on your local network or on the go through your own WireGuard VPN.
Save films, individual episodes and entire seasons to your device for offline playback. Manage saved media under Profile → Downloads. The app checks for new versions automatically and offers available updates.
No additional player app is required. The APK includes ARM64, ARMv7 and x86-64 versions. UHD, HDR and multichannel audio depend on your Android device and its audio output.
Installation and first launch
Samsung devices with “Auto Blocker”: Under Settings → Security and privacy → Auto Blocker temporarily turn this option off for the initial installation and each subsequent Couchkartell APK update. Turn it back on afterwards. Use only the APK from this website.
- Download the APK to your Android device and open the file.
- When Android prompts you, allow your browser or file manager to install from this source and confirm the installation.
- Open Couchkartell and enter your household activation code. Then select your profile.
You need Android 9 or later, an up-to-date Android System WebView, an activated Couchkartell household and internet access for sign-in and management. Video files are read directly from an accessible NAS or SMB share. A folder stored only on your Windows PC must be shared on the network.
Use WireGuard on the go
Set up WireGuard separately from Couchkartell and activate the tunnel before playback. If the tunnel makes your home network accessible, use the same local NAS path. An IP address alone is not enough: the path must include the share name and any subfolder.
