Terms of use and liability
Lawful use of media
Couchkartell is intended solely for organising and playing digital films and TV shows that the user has lawfully acquired or is otherwise entitled to store and use. Couchkartell does not provide media, bypass copy protection or grant rights to copyrighted content.
Unauthorised copying, downloading, distribution, sharing or making protected works publicly available is prohibited. The user is solely responsible for ensuring that connected files, shares and uses comply with applicable law and the relevant licence terms.
No storage of video files
Film and TV files are not transferred to Couchkartell. They remain on the household's local or network storage. Only the metadata and settings required for the library, profiles and synchronisation are stored centrally.
Features and availability
Couchkartell is provided with reasonable care. Uninterrupted availability, complete freedom from errors or compatibility with every file, network, player or system configuration cannot be guaranteed. Users should independently back up their media and important configurations.
Liability
Statutory liability provisions apply. Liability is unlimited for intent and gross negligence, as well as for damage resulting from injury to life, body or health. For a slightly negligent breach of essential contractual obligations, liability is limited to typically foreseeable damage. Otherwise, liability for damage caused by slight negligence is excluded to the extent permitted by law.
Liability for data loss is limited to the damage that would also have occurred with proper and regular backups. No responsibility is accepted for the content, availability or lawfulness of external services, metadata sources or files connected by the user.
Activation and updates
Use may require an activated household and a supported application version. Security and required updates may be necessary before continued use of Couchkartell. Device access may be revoked in cases of misuse, security risks, overdue payments or the end of the contract.
Changes
If paid plans are introduced, prices, features, terms, cancellation conditions and consumer information will be provided separately and transparently before a paid order is placed. These notices do not replace individual licence terms for the media used by the user.
